Does OneRoam work at sea?
OneRoam is a Florida brand that launched in March 2026, built entirely around unlimited data rather than gigabyte tiers — on land and at sea alike. Its cruise-line plans are one bundle priced by the day, covering more than 150 countries and 210-plus ships. The at-sea half runs on Cellular at Sea, the same maritime network behind GigSky. Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, MSC and Disney are all on the list.

Who OneRoam is for
OneRoam Communications LLC launched the brand in March 2026 out of Miramar, Florida, claiming to be the first eSIM built purely around unlimited data. The pitch is refreshingly simple. One eSIM, one price by the day, and no counting megabytes at the quay or three days out.
The cruise-line plans run on Cellular at Sea, the same maritime operator that carries GigSky’s at-sea traffic. OneRoam is therefore a second brand selling access to one network rather than a rival network in its own right. Its cruise pages list operators one by one, and between them OneRoam claims more than 210 ships across roughly 25 lines.
There is also a cheaper land-only plan covering the same 150-plus countries with no ship coverage whatsoever. Which page the plan is bought from therefore decides what arrives. The cruise-line pages sell the combined land-and-sea bundle; the general homepage plans sell land alone.
How OneRoam holds up at sea
The cruise-line plans genuinely work at sea rather than only in port, connecting through Cellular at Sea across Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian and the other named lines. OneRoam’s own terms are commendably honest about the edges. Coverage applies only in international waters. It is not promised to be unbroken. And it may not reach every part of the ship, which is the same warning every at-sea seller gives about steel and cabin position. The trap here is not the coverage but the checkout. Buying the cheap land-only plan by mistake is the most common way to end up with nothing on a sea day.
What OneRoam costs, and what that buys
These come from OneRoam’s Royal Caribbean plan page, checked in September 2026, and bundle land and sea together. One day is $19.99, three days $46.49, seven days $89.99, ten days $119.99, fifteen days $159.99 and thirty days $259.99. All of them are unlimited. The per-day cost falls steeply with length, from roughly $20 a day down to under $9.
The general land-only plan covers the same 150-plus countries far more cheaply: $14.99 for three days, $31.99 for seven and $89.99 for thirty. It is still unlimited, still priced by the day rather than the gigabyte.
The validity clock starts when the eSIM first meets a network, cruise or land, rather than on the day the card is charged. If a trip outruns the plan, top-ups are available at any point from the app or the website.

Getting it working before you sail
Cruise plans are bought from the matching cruise-line page, on oneroam.com or in the app, and installed by QR code, automatic carrier detection or manual entry. Do it at home before boarding, on household wi-fi. Leave automatic data switching off on the main line. From there the plan attaches to Cellular at Sea by itself once the ship is far enough offshore, with nothing to flip manually.

The verdict for cruise passengers
These are a genuine at-sea product rather than a port eSIM in a cruise-shaped wrapper. They ride the same Cellular at Sea network that carries GigSky, and they price unlimited data by the day instead of the gigabyte. That coverage costs a great deal more than OneRoam’s own land-only plan for the same countries, which is the honest comparison to make before buying. The company’s own disclosure deserves weight too. Service may not reach every part of a ship, and a windowless inside cabin is exactly where that bites.
