What the ledger shows that the average does not
Thirty-one hours ashore across four calls in three separate countries, against two sea days. The expensive problem here is not the ocean, it is the paperwork: Mexico, the Cayman Islands and Jamaica are three different roaming situations, and a regional plan that quietly omits one of them leaves you paying for a day you thought you had bought.
Read down the data column and the split is stark: about 2.6 GB of the 3.1 GB is spent ashore across 40 hours off the ship, and roughly 0.5 GB is spent on the 2 days when no land network exists. Those two numbers buy different products at very different prices per gigabyte, which is the entire reason this site separates them.
What is priced in: maps, messaging, email, browsing and photo uploads. What is not: streaming of any kind, video calls of any length, and cloud backup left switched on.
